Made on top of stove using a heavy pan.
1/2 cup melted butter
1 lb. dates, pitted
1-1/2 cups sugar
4 egg yolks
4 tsp. vanilla extract
2 cups chopped nuts
2 cups Rice Krispies or Corn Flakes
Mix butter, dates, sugar and egg yolks in a heavy pan, then stir while cooking on a stovetop and partly mash the dates for six minutes. Remove from heat and add vanilla and nuts. Stir in cereal, then roll into small balls (pecan-sized) and store in a cookie jar. – Karen Bergman (Enchelmayer)
