Anatomical animation from MRIs leads to settlement in 1995 injury lawsuit
Miami attorney Ron Kopplow of Kopplow and Flynn brought the case of a middle-aged woman, JC, to Allison Legal Graphics Group in 1995. I coordinated the graphics (painted by Lik Hok Kwong and Bob Morreale) and scanned high-quality, colorized MRI images into the Mac and animated them together for Quicktime with Morph software.
There were two defendants - a retailer and a manufacturer. They challenged my ability to make such a video which was entered as evidence in the injury case. I was questioned in pre-trial and got certified as an expert witness in the area of video animation in Dade County Court. The manufacturer settled immediately, and the retailer settled after the court case went to trial.
